This was special project inspired by a fathers love for his daughter. The Tansu is of traditional frame and panel style construction. The material is Myrtlewood, a form of Bay that grows in Southern Oregon. It has a distinct peppery smell and beautiful light brown color often with dark streaks. Drawer backs and bottoms are Alaskan Yellow Cedar assembled in modified traditional style with bamboo nails. The Tansu back is paneled with Eastern Red Cedar (Juniper) which adds aroma and moth resistance. The pulls are forged Iron from Japan.
